Why Karaoke

From having experience as a DJ in a wide array of party types, from corporate events/weddings, to clubs and bars all the way to private parties. When people hear Karaoke there are usually two responses;
- People get very excited
- They get very shy and dismissive of the idea to get up in front of others and sing.
I have learned the ones who usually dismiss the idea immediately, end up having the most fun if they do not join in on the singing. Most think that they would be making a fool of themselves because they do not sound like Whitney Houston, Bruno Mars or any great vocalist. I always tell them “When you are in your car alone or with friends do you care about how you sound?” Their answer is always of course not, it’s just that when people see a microphone they get intimidated.
Karaoke is the absolute perfect way to break the ice if you are coming together for a wedding weekend, a corporate outing, or even amongst strangers for people to just let go and have fun, even if some need a little liquid courage to join in. When you go out the goal is for entertainment and you would be surprised at how entertaining we all can be by just letting ourselves go for those 2-3 minutes singing one of our favorite tunes pretending we are alongside our favorite artists.
There are no age restrictions, nobody is judging anyone for how their voice sounds (at least not loudly) and no one is going to throw tomatoes unless you have a big brother or sister present. It can make a room full of strangers smile and start conversing with each other simply because they have shared a funny moment through music together and it always becomes a sing-a-long dance party.
I have a voice made only for the shower but it does not stop me from picking up a microphone, and everyone leaves happy and smiling from all the Karaoke parties I have been a part of, whether it’s as a DJ or just a participant. It’s a theme in which you can not go wrong and everyone can be included as all genres of music are available.
That is why I call it the Perfect Party!
